New Start for Lum Head

Lum Head is a small primary  school with BIG plans. During the last week of term we held a green day, all the children took part. Each year group had activities such as making bird boxes, ladybird houses, preparing grounds for vegetable and flower beds, planting around our newly planted trees and with the help of parents the start of our wildelife pond.

The main reason for this day was to raise children’s awareness of our world, our school and what we can do to help our planet. The children were all asked to bring £2 on the day this to pay for an Eco friendly, fair trade bag which they could decorate and then use in school instead of plastic bags.

The school raised about £100  which is a great start for our fund – we have also been given a donation  towards our wildlife pond, so watch this space!
