Damers First School – Spick n Span – Young Enterprise

Damers Eco Crew came up with a product called Spick ‘N’ Span. It  is  a  multi purpose cleaning block that can be used in your toilet, dishwasher, help to clean your cooker, scrub your nails, wash your fruit and freshen your air. It is made from bicarbonate of soda, cream of tartar, coconut oil, natural food colouring and essential oils and is a 100% Eco friendly product.

Damers Eco Crew created a questionnaire to gather information from potential customers about what shape, colour, smell and price they would like the product to be. They have also worked with Rachel Walsh, a Graphic Designer, to come up with a logo for their product.

Damers Eco Crew pitched their product in front of local businesses hoping to convince them to sell their product.

They sold their product outside Waitrose, at the School Summer Fair, at Poundbury Farmers’ Market and also at Dorset Food and Arts Festival in Queen Mother Square, Poundbury. They raised £720 and put the money together with the enterprise project they did last year (Garden Grenades, recycled School paper mixed with wildflower seeds) to buy a solar powered stop watch for the school playground. 

Th children won Best Group and Most profitable Product in the 5 – 8 year old Category at the Young Enterprise Fiver Challenge National Competition 2017.
