Damers First School – Prince Charles Visit

In November 2017 Prince Charles came to our school to see all the inspiring sustainability work that we are doing as well as open our brand new school building.

He spoke to children in the kitchen garden about plastic pollution and the importance of Britain copying the Swedish plastic deposit scheme. He also gave a helping hand to some children in the garden while they planted bulbs and plants.

He unveiled a plaque in front of our ceramic tree. Each piece was made by a child at the school and represents the sustainability work embedded within our school as well as the ethos with the words caring, kind, unique and brave. If you look closely you will see an owl, robin, hedgehog, birds, many butterflies and minibeasts and a mouse.
