Posted on November 23rd, 2011 by Agent Latham

However, as we only meet formally once a week its almost impossible to deliver which is why we have decided to make it an online,  independent learning course where students can access the information, upload all they are doing, keep notes of meetings and talk to each other through one website.

The environmental leaders have chosen to break themselves down into small groups, each looking at one of the eight …

Posted on November 22nd, 2011 by Chief Agent Marcheva

Jane Goodall is excited. “Have you heard?” she says, as we eat lunch in the restaurant at Compton Acres in Poole. “We’ve been shortlisted for an Oscar!” She is referring to the film about her life, Jane’s Journey, which had its UK premiere at Bournemouth University.

In between trips she still lives in her family home in Bournemouth, and she is at Compton Acres for a very special event. The Dolphins of Greece – Roots & Shoots Teacher Barbara James tells us about the Earthwatch Expedition 2011

Posted on October 26th, 2011 by Chief Agent Marcheva

I had been asked to go to Greece and be a ‘scientific research volunteer’ working with the Earthwatch Institute and Tethys Research Institute in the Amvrakikos gulf in Greece.  I was so excited and a little nervous. There were 5 volunteers from all over the world.  There was Kimberley, originally from Canada but now lives and teaches in London, Lynne and Christine both from the United States, Shotaro (Sho) from Japan and me from Derbyshire, England.  Our leaders name was JoAn Gonzalvo from Barcelona and his assistant Ioannis from Greece.  We shared a very large room in an apartment in a lovely house two minutes’ walk away from the sea.  We had bunk beds, two large sofas and two desks …
