Posted on March 12th, 2012 by Chief Agent Marcheva

Dear Roots & Shoots members,

Stop the press!

At last the Jane Goodall Rose is finally available in a very limited edition until May 1st 2012.

Home Super Agents – making a difference

Posted on March 12th, 2012 by Agent Diamond

Home Super Agents are all young people in foster care. We cannot do group activities because we all live in different places but we are all doing little actions which help to make a big difference. Here is what some of us have been doing:

Super Agent P is 7 years old. Super Agent P cares about all the wildlife that is in danger from poaching and loss of places where they live. Closer to home Super Agent P goes to the beach a lot and whilst he is there always insists on picking up all the litter and fishing lines he finds. The goal she has is for animals to be given the care needed to eventually be well enough to be released back into nature. There have been a few animals where this is not possible, including a 30kg …

Feeding the birds over the winter

We made our own fat balls to feed the birds over the winter. To make the fat balls we melted lard and mixed seed into the melted lard. Forest Activity Ideas

Posted on February 2nd, 2012 by Sunil Patel

This activity is all about looking at forests and woodlands and understanding how they affect Animals, People and the Environment.

The finalised activity will specifically designed as a ‘kick start’ for groups who are just starting out with Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and would like to try a bit of everything the programme has to offer. The activities are geared to using local forests/woodlands as a learning resource so that students can get out and about and interact with their local environment. Groups can try one, two, or all three of the main sections, and are also encouraged to extend the activity by comparing and contrasting their findings about their local environment with the experience of the Jane Goodall TACARE …
