Kids & Animals – Free Online Book!

Here is a message from Marc Bekoff, a former Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and co-founder with Jane Goodall of Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals:

It is a great pleasure to provide the link to a new online book, Kids & Animals: Drawings From the Hands and Hearts of Children & Youth (Text by Marc Bekoff, Foreword by Jane Goodall). It is the result of a happy collaboration between myself and the Children, Youth and Environments Center at the University of Colorado to feature the drawings, writing, and activities of children and youth engaged in Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots programs in countries around the world. It is our goal that this book will inspire other young people to draw and write about their feelings for animals and to put their own ideas into action to care for animals, protect their habitats, and promote compassion, empathy, coexistence, and peace. It is perfect for classes, discussions, and activities focusing on humane education and conservation education so that we all can expand our compassion footprint.

Enjoy this book and share this link with others. We hope that it will inspire as many young people as possible as well as the adults who work with them to help turn dreams for a better world into reality.”

— Marc Bekoff, University of Colorado
