Quest Overseas to sponsor 2013 Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Award for Individual Endeavour

Quest Overseas is delighted to be sponsoring the Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Award for Individual Endeavour. We will give the nominated winner a fully funded place on any of our 4-6 week summer project teams in South America or Africa, including:

  • Working in the Inti Wara Yassi wild animal refuges in Bolivia
  • Helping to build sand dams in drought-affected parts of Kenya
  • Building homes for families in the shantytown of Villa Maria, Peru
  • Building homes for abandoned children in Rwanda among others.

Teams depart from early July, coinciding with school or university summer holidays. The prize would include return flights from the UK, all expenses on the ground overseas – food, board, transport (except personal expenses – internet, phone calls, evening drinks, souvenirs etc.), medical travel insurance and a one day UK training course with the rest of the team before they go away. The winner will be invited to visit our offices in Sussex to discuss the options, so we can establish together which project is the most suitable.

Quest Overseas has been running projects and expeditions in South America and Africa since 1996

We do ask our regular volunteers to each make a donation to the project they will be working on (around £700-£800). Quest will cover this for the award winner, but we would encourage them to fundraise what they can to further support the project.

You can find a bit more about each of the projects we offer on our website – www.questoverseas.com – just look at the “Summer Trips”

Hurry up and submit nominations for all students you believe deserve this opportunity!
