Roots & Shoots Fundraiser

To support Jane Goodall’s pioneering global Roots & Shoots educational programme for young people, Dr. Bremley Lyngdoh who is the Programme Director of Global Plantations in the UK, participated in the world’s famous 10 mile Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth on Sunday the 27th of October 2013. He completed the run in one hour thirteen minutes just before the hurricane hit the south coast of England and caused extensive damage along its path.

Dr. Lyngdoh, the Co Founder of the Global Youth Action Network in the U.S, where Dr. Goodall is an Advisor said, “I draw my inspiration from Jane Goodall to implement the sustainable development work that I am doing in many countries and I am honoured to have first met her way back in the fall of 1999 at the State of the World Forum in San Francisco. As she is my role model whose work has guided me in my own journey, I am very proud to support the Roots & Shoots programme which has been encouraging children around the world to implement practical positive change for people, animals and the environment by providing teachers with free resources and activities.”

Dr. Lyngdoh quoted President John F. Kennedy, the youngest U.S. President to be elected to the White House, who said; “The future promise of any nation can be directly measured by the present prospects of its youth.”
