Eco-Schools Celebration Event

P1030687 P1030688

As part of our work towards our Eco Schools Award, we were invited to attend the Eco Schools Celebration Event at City Hall where we could showcase the work that we are doing and share it with other schools.

We chose to focus our display on two categories: Biodiversity in the School Garden and Energy Saving in School.

As requested by the City Council, we travelled to City Hall by public bus and arrived in good time to set up our display. We had so much to show and share that we had to use the back of the boards as well…

During the morning, the children had to present their work to at least 15 different judges who were awarding prizes at the end of the morning. We are delighted to report that we won the Biodiversity Award for our School Garden and also walked away with the Judges’ Special Award. It was lovely to share the morning with Mrs Mohamed and Mrs Nana, one of our Governors, who were both as impressed and proud as I was of our wonderful Mayflower children!

A huge thank you to Mrs Mohamed and Miss Patel and all the children in Gardening Club for all their efforts! And thanks too to the Young Consultants for their work looking at the school’s energy consumption.

Keep up the great work!
