At a presentation at West Solent Solar Farm this week, Daisy King of Walhampton School was awarded a special prize by the Mayor of Lymington for designing one of the most striking postcards – which she had actually written in French.
Around a thousand postcards made by New Forest pupils were handed over to Mark Hancock who is now cycling to Paris, where they will be passed to the world leaders attending the COPD talks on climate change. He has set up a blog, where he is sharing some of the postcards, written by his cuddly toy owl, Oswaldo. When Mark saw the cards he said, “They are beautiful, amazing and moving. How aware these children are. I will be so proud to be the postman.” Follow Oswaldo’s blog, (which includes his fitness training!) at http://oswaldobikestoparis.blogspot.co.uk/
