Sensory Garden
We have worked with a local contractor to transform a once inaccessible area of our site into a beautiful sensory garden. The children love it as a place for learning and quiet.
We have worked with a local contractor to transform a once inaccessible area of our site into a beautiful sensory garden. The children love it as a place for learning and quiet.
Year 5 and 6 have made mini composters and will be taking measurements such as temperature and depth of material to observe changes over the year.
Year 2 and 3 pupils are investigating the rate of decomposition of different materials over time. They have placed a variety of objects in a corner of the schools grounds and are observing them regularly to see what happens!
Year 2 pupils recently visited Harmony Wood in Andover to plant out the tree whips we have been looking after for the last year. We are part of the core group of schools working with Andover Tress United (https://www.andovertrees.org.uk/)to create a community woodland and environmental studies resource.
As part of our work to support Andover Trees United we have planted new tree whips into our Nursery Bed. Year 6 pupils helped Year 1 plant out in preparation for planting at Harmony Wood in Andover next November.
