Liphook Infant School

Stemming from my After School Club – Teaching Children Conservation Through Art – and combined with the school’s excellent green and environmental efforts, I’m thrilled to share that Liphook Infant School has been given a Bronze Award for Spring 2022 from Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. The Bronze has been awarded in recognition of contributions in achieving a better world for People, Animals and the Environment. Hooray!

Receiving an award for conservation and environmental activities is a beautiful way for the kids to celebrate a love for our wonderful planet, demonstrated through their colouring an dart wok, alongside outdoor activities, e.g. little picking and recycling, Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted 2022, this exciting Bronze will help empower the children to have greater confidence in their voice about the future conservation of planet earth; their home. Thank you very much Roots & Shoots – the children are over the moon! The After School Club will continue into the next academic year, gaining more schools in which to run the club, looking to Roots & Shoots for wonderful conservation projects ideas to share with the children.

“The world has seen an average 68% drop in mamma, bird, fish, reptile, and amphibian populations since 1970. Much of the loss is caused by habitat destruction due to unsustainable agriculture or logging. And climate change, which hasn’t been the biggest driver of biodiversity loss so far, is expected to take that role in the decades ahead.” (Cited from WWF)
