Litter picking supported by the local council and local author

Our eco club have been asking for a long time to do a beach clean up. We do a lot of litter picking as part of land based lessons but our group were really eager to clean up a beach location.

We were really fortunate to have Folkestone and Hythe District Council come and support us. They gave us all the equipment and gave us a safety talk. This was a great way to start our litter pick. We were also thrilled to have been joined by Jenny Bailey, Co-Founder, Author and Director from Tales of Mother Earth who accompanied us on our litter pick. Not only was she a great help with our mission but it was great to learn about wildlife that she identified on  route.

The experience was very rewarding and it was great to turn the children’s ideas into action. We look forward to hopefully doing this again in the future.
