Swindon Saplings is a Home Educators Group, run by parents and children, working together as a group to make the world a better place and inspire others to do the same. I felt it would be nice to take the time and look back on everything we have achieved in 2023, for the environment, animals […]
At Moreton Hall, we have been looking more closely at the wildlife around us. Pupils have been collaborating from Year 1 to Year 9 by investigating the Shropshire butterflies. Our collective effort has borne fruit in a remarkable display that showcases a spectrum of butterflies, ranging from the commonly known Red Admiral and Holly Blue […]
This week, our School Eco Club held one of its regular meetings. Our meeting focused on energy saving, and our Eco Club members created some brilliant posters that we intend to put up around the school to remind staff and students that turning off lights when leaving a room saves energy and costs.

Y3 Upcyclers repurposed pallet bookshelves and other materials to make a cosy reading corner in their classroom & Y7-8 English classes are using sets of books sourced from Oxfam. Our Pre-Loved Uniform […]
As part of their ‘Hibernation’ topic, our Reception children made bug hotels, which have been placed in various places around the school grounds. The children have worked so hard to help give nature a home!

We then created our own Christmas bouquets […]

One adult and three children were asked to attend from each of the 25 Kent schools, […]

Stuart brought Scout with him; our headteacher, Stacey, played the part of a missing person, and Scout was excellent at showing off air-scenting skills. […]
Well done to the St George’s School litter pickers for doing such a great job clearing the rubbish around our school.
