A collage with a powerful message

‘You have the power to build a better world’

Inspired by the many empowering quotes from Dr Jane that children have the power to make a difference, we decided to create a collage to remind us every day!

Our very talented art teachers created a secret design and then each pupil in J3 (year 5) was given a tile, like a piece of a jigsaw, which would make up part of the final design. We did not know what the design was, only that it was to do with Dr Jane and sustainability.

In keeping with the theme of sustainability, we used only plastic waste to create our individual tiles for the collage, reusing & repurposing coloured plastic bags and other plastic that may otherwise have been thrown away.

Once all our tiles were complete, we gathered in the hall together to put it together, piece by piece. The design gradually revealed itself and we were all delighted with it!

We hung in our main corridor for all to see and to remind us that every choice we make, will make a difference to our planet.
