Eton College Celebrates Environment Week
Eton students enjoyed academic, extracurricular and service activities focused on sustainability and conservation during Environment Week, officially from the 18th to the 22nd of May. In fact, events kicked off even earlier, on Saturday the 17th, with Cyanotypes Workshops at the Drawing Schools.
On Tuesday, boys flocked to the STEM Centre for some late afternoon bird watching, and teachers gathered on Wednesday to explore the question “Can we integrate nature, beauty, and the environment into every curriculum subject?”. Thursday was a busy day, with a late morning gathering of students, teachers and guests to plan environmental initiatives, and the grand opening of a thrift shop at the STEM Centre in the afternoon.
Throughout the week, all could enjoy an exhibition “Maths in Nature”, plus ongoing discussions about sustainability at Eton, and the release of the latest edition of Florentina, Eton’s student-published environmental magazine.
