Dr Jane Goodall, DBE receives President's Medal from the British Academy

At an inspiring ceremony at the British Academy in London on 25^th November, Dame Jane Goodall was rewarded The President’s Medal, for her landmark contribution to, and impact on, our understanding of primate behaviors and human evolution.Unfortunately Dr Goodall was unable to accept the medal in person, but Tara Golshan, Executive Director, Education at the Jane Goodall Institute who accepted on her behalf, said: “It was such a privilege to humbly accept this award on Jane’s behalf. For someone who has dedicated every day of her life to this cause, it is truly both inspirational and deserving”The President's Medal rewards significant service to the cause of the humanities and social sciences. It was first awarded in 2010 and covers a broad range of criteria, including insightful journalism contributing to public understanding, use of research in policymaking, and public leadership.Congratulations Jane!The Roots & Shoots Team
