Earthfest 2025 – London’s ultimate festival of sustainability, created to inspire positive climate action

From 5–8 June 2025 at King’s Cross, Earthfest, the not-for-profit festival brought together eco-conscious citizens, innovative organisations, and sustainability leaders for a weekend of fun, education, inspiration, and action. Blending music, art, industry, and bold ideas, Earthfest is an event unlike any other.

Earthfest’s aim is to breathe new life into the climate movement by making it accessible, attractive, and celebrated as a lifestyle. The mission is to inspire positive climate action and foster genuine conversations around sustainability by engaging diverse voices often left out of the conversation.

Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots team were delighted to participate at Earthfest, and on Day 1, our Director of Outreach Jasmina Georgovska and Trustee extraordinaire Rosemary Reed, were joined by our amazing Ambassadors Kyle Thomas and Akash Mahta, to deliver a talk to schools from across London, reminding them of all the positive difference they can make together and as individuals, encouraging them to think about the small and the big positive actions they can take for pollinators, wildlife, trees and nature; and how urban conservation is achievable at school, at home and in our communities. At the end of the talk, the room was filled with smiles and hope, and each student received a pack of bee-friendly seeds to start their first Roots & Shoots project.

Our counter over the weekend was busy and exciting – meeting like-minded organisations and businesses, families and young people sharing their substantiality journeys and eager to do more.

Earthfest 2025 concluded with a special message from our founder, our hero, Dr Jane Goodall. The room was packed, everyone’s eyes locked at the screens, intensely listening to Dr Jane’s story, reasons for hope and why at 91 she is still travelling the world, spreading hope and inspiring generations. It was a fitting end to a Festival filled with positivity and hope for a better future for all.

Georgina McGivern, Co-Founder of The London Clean Air Initiative and Earthfest, said: “We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. Their School’s Programme is inspiring and important, and we have been honoured to have been able to collaborate with them to deliver impactful school workshops that engage young people in environmental action and awareness. Their eagerness to work together to tackle these problems and educate young people has been inspiring.

At Earthfest, their presence brought tremendous value—both through their engaging stand, which offered our audience deep insights into conservation and sustainability, and through Dr Jane Goodall’s unforgettable closing address. Her words were profoundly moving and left everyone in the audience feeling empowered and hopeful.

It has been a true privilege to work alongside the Jane Goodall Institute, and we look forward to continuing this powerful partnership in the future.”

***We would like to thank our partner, London Clean Air, for inviting us and for supporting us in educating young people across London about the importance of taking action for our Planet.
